IIM Ahmedabad is No. 1 in the NIRF 2025 Management Rankings with a score of 83.29, followed by IIM Bangalore (81.56) and IIM Kozhikode (79.85). The top 10 are seven IIMs (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Calcutta and Indore), IIT Delhi at No. 4, MDI Gurgaon at No. 9 and XLRI Jamshedpur at No. 10. The Ministry of Education released the ranking on 4 September 2025.

NIRF lists the institutes placed 101–125 alphabetically, as a band, without individual ranks or scores. For these we show the entrance exams and admission details only.
Median salary and share placed are for each institute's latest graduating batch of its two-year programme (2023-24), as the institute reported them to NIRF. Intake is the approved intake for 2023-24.
How the ranking works
NIRF scores each institute out of 100 on five groups of parameters, using the data the institute submits and a perception survey:
- Teaching, learning and resources (30%): student strength, faculty-student ratio, faculty qualifications and experience, and spending.
- Research and professional practice (30%): publications and their quality, and consultancy and executive education.
- Graduation outcomes (20%): placements and higher studies, median salary, and students graduating on time.
- Outreach and inclusivity (10%): students from other states and abroad, women, economically and socially disadvantaged students, and facilities for students with disabilities.
- Perception (10%): a survey of academics and employers.
Only institutes that apply are ranked, so an institute that is missing may simply not have taken part.

About this data
Every figure on these pages comes from the official NIRF 2025 ranking and from the data file each institute submitted to NIRF, which NIRF publishes on its website.
- Placements and median salary are for the graduating batches of 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 of each institute's main two-year programme (MBA or PGDM), as the institute reported them. The headline figure is the 2023-24 batch.
- Intake is the approved intake for 2023-24. Student numbers cover all years of the programmes the institute reported.
- What you need to get in (exams, eligibility and selection) was checked against each institute's own admission page in October 2026. Rules change every year, so confirm them with the institute before you apply.
NIRF publishes a new ranking every year, usually in August or September. We update these pages when it does.

When was the NIRF 2025 ranking released?
The Ministry of Education released the NIRF 2025 rankings on 4 September 2025. Management is one of the categories it ranks.
Does NIRF rank every B-school in India?
No. Only institutes that apply and submit their data are ranked. If a B-school isn't in the list, it may not have taken part.
Is a higher NIRF rank always the better choice?
Not necessarily. Check whether you are eligible, which entrance exam the institute uses and the score it usually needs, the fees, and the median salary of its last batch. A counsellor can help you build a realistic shortlist.
Which is the top institute in the NIRF 2025 Management Rankings?
IIM Ahmedabad is ranked first with a score of 83.29, followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode.
